Dr. Brent Masel Named BIAA National Medical Director
Dr. Brent Masel, president and medical director at the Transitional Learning Center at Galveston, Texas, has been named the National Medical Director for the Brain Injury Association of America (BIAA). Dr. Masel takes over from Dr. Gregory O’Shanick, president and medical director for Center for Neurorehabilitation Services, PC, who had served as BIAA’s national medical director for more than 14 years before becoming chairman of BIAA’s board this year. TLC Joins Project Victory
The Transitional Learning Center (TLC) in Galveston, TX joined the Project Victory Program to provide residential services to program participants.

December 21, 2010
TLC Completed Installation of the Zero G.
There are only 7 of these systems installed in the world!
ZeroG™ is the world's most advanced overground gait and balance training system. It allows patients to safely practice intensive physical therapy early in their rehabilitation, a factor shown to be related to enhanced outcomes. Versatility of ZeroG promotes a wide-range of training possibilities. The system includes a dynamic body-weight support system that traverses along an overhead track while the patient is securely held in comfortable harness. Bioness Website

The Zero G will be used with service members requiring physical conditioning as well as those needing gait and balance training due to their combat injuries.
