Project Victory provides rehabilitation and combat stress counseling for Operation New Dawn, Operation Iraqi Freedom, and Operation Enduring Freedom service members and veterans diagnosed with brain injury or post concussive syndrome. Services are provided at no cost at one of the top rehabilitation centers in the country.
What to Bring

Thanks you for choosing to participate in the Project Victory program at the Transitional Learning Center (TLC) in Galveston, Texas. We hope that you will find the following list helpful while preparing for your stay with us. If you have any problems or questions regarding the items to bring, please contact Shawn Brossart at (409) 797-1400, or the TLC Admissions Office at (409) 797-1452.

Medications
Keep medications within reach while packing. Please bring them in with you on the day of admission.

The following are standards established by the Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services (DADS). To assure your health and safety, the following conditions must be met prior to admission:

  1. Bring all prescribed medications, as well as over-the-counter (OTC) medications that you currently use.
  2. Copies of ALL prescriptions currently taken must be provided by the hospital physician or your primary care physician (PCP). This will be included in the medical record. State license requires we have a copy of all prescriptions on file. If there are any problems with medications, please call the Admissions Office at (409) 797-1452.
  3. A thirty (30) day supply of each medication must be brought on the day of admission.
  4. Each medication must be in the original bottle and must have pharmacy labels.
  5. Provide information on how TLC can get your medications refilled (prescription benefits, co-pays and/or self pay). If you require financial assistance for medication refills, please let us know and we can assist.
  6. Bring your insurance card, prescription card, Medicaid form and/or Medicare Card(s). These items are important in case of an emergency or for doctor appointments outside our facility.

Clothing
Your therapies will include, but are not limited to, physical therapy and therapeutic recreation therapy. Please bring clothing that is comfortable and appropriate for these activities, including supportive athletic shoes. Examples of activities are – physical therapy, community walks, arts and crafts, and biking.

Please note – you are responsible for furnishing your own personal items. Our program focuses on functional independence of each individual.

TLC with provide the following items:

  • Bath towels
  • Bedding (sheets, pillow, pillowcase, mattress pad, and bed spread)
  • Wash towels
